How to make bookings
- Fill in your request at the “enquiry form”. This can be done by clicking the “contact us” button on top right on this website.

Lead time for bookings
- Air ticket – minimum one working day before departure date.
- Air + Hotel Package – minimum two working days before departure date. However, guarantee payment must be paid upfront from last minute reservation.
- Excursion Tours (half day/ one day tour) – minimum one working day before departure.
- Multi-day but single destination Tour – minimum two working days before departure.
- Multi-day and Multi-city Tour – minimum one week before departure.
- Train tickets – minimum two working days before departure.
Payment Schedule
- Except for Multi-day and Multi-city Tour and train tickets, most items sold in this website do not require payment at time of booking.
- Once bookings are confirmed, we will send you the deadline for payment – i.e. how much to be paid, on and before what date. Generally speaking, FULL payment is required in due course.
- However, an upfront full payment is required at time of booking for items such as train ticket and last minutes booking situation.
- For Multi-day and Multi-city Tour, a deposit of USD100 per person is required at the time of booking. Remaining balance is due two weeks prior to departure date.

- By sending us a cheque, make it crossed and payable to “4thetravel.com Limited”. We only accept HK currency cheque and payment is honoured only after the cheque is being cleared.
- Paying in cash (HK dollars only) at our office.
- Generally speaking, credit cards are not accepted as all prices listed are cash price only. However, we can give discretion for overseas bookings or for those who want the insurance offered by the credit cards. Please bear in mind that for credit card payment, you will find the due amount will be around 3% more. If you wish to pay by credit card, please fill in this form and return to us by fax or email.
Documentation
- Air tickets – all tickets are base on electronic tickets which copies will be sent to you by email or by fax. The E tickets are not served as document for travel. In fact, the passport with a valid China visa (if required) is vital for airlines check-in. However, you are recommended to print the E ticket copies out and keep them with you during travel.
- Hotel voucher – Generally speaking this document is not used to “exchange” for the service, i.e. hotel accommodation. Hotels should have your reservation and payment details already. In fact, it serves mainly as a document to indicate the conditions of accommodation being booked, i.e. hotel property, check-in and check-out dates, numbers of room, type of rooms, any meals / transportation included etc. However, it is still an important document as it prints hotel detail address and telephone number.
- Train tickets – Since most train tickets in China get only be issued from the railway bureau a few days prior to departure date, in most cases, you may only pick up the train ticket at the designated travel agents from the city of departure. For example, you can get the train ticket from HK office a couple of day before departure for a train that leaves from HK to Beijing or from Beijing office for a train from Beijing to Shanghai. Alternatively, we can also deliver to the hotel with extra fee.
Cancellation and Refund
There is no cancellation fee if bookings are confirmed but payment are not due yet.
For bookings which payment are already made:
- Air ticket – only wholely unused air tickets can apply for refund. However, some promotional tickets are non-refundable which you should reconfirm with us before we issue the tickets. For refundable tickets, cancellation charge is normally HK$500 to HK$1000 per ticket. It will take minimum two months before you will get the refund from the date you apply.
- Train ticket – non refundable
- Excursion Tour – full refund if cancel 7 working days before departure. However, there is a HK$100 handling fee per person applied. No refund if cancel within 7 days before departure. However, if it is not a same day cancellation, we will negotiate with tour operator for refund, but is not guarantee.
- Multi-day and Multi-city Tour – USD100 deposit is non-refundable.
- Air + Hotel Package – Generally speaking are non-fundable once full payment is received and after voucher and tickets are documented. However, we can usually (not 100%) get refund from unused hotel rooms except for the first night. To apply for refund, we will also collect a cancellation fee.

We do not guarantee the prices listed on this website. They are subject to change at anytime. We strive to keep them update at all time. However, for all paid bookings, we shall not ask for any surcharge.
Children under 5 years of age are not recommended to take Excursion Tour and Multi-day, Mutli-city Tours.
